Carillion secures £360 million support services contract with
Norwich Union for claims management
Support services and construction company Carillion has secured a contract to
provide Claims Management for Norwich Union's property-related insurance claims.
The three-year contract is worth £120 million a year.
Carillion has worked with Norwich Union for the last six years providing claims
management services. Key features of the new contract include the creation of
six regional customer centres in the South-east, South-west, the Midlands,
Yorkshire, the North-west and Scotland and the use of leading-edge web-portal
technology, which provides Norwich Union with up-to-date contract information.
The new contract will therefore create a step change in the quality of customer
services and greater efficiency.
This contract reinforces Carillion's position as a leading supplier of support
services to a number of 'blue chip' private sector customers, alongside the
leading position it holds in growing public sector support services markets,
including defence, health and education.
Commenting on the contract, Carillion chief executive, John McDonough, said,
'The award of this contract follows a detailed evaluation by Norwich Union of a
number of competitive proposals and business plans. Our selection by Norwich
Union reflects not only Carillion's ability to deliver a claims service that
meets the aspirations of Norwich Union, but also our focus on customer
engagement and service, reflecting an excellent cultural fit between the two
companies.'
The new contract commences later this year. The transition to the regionalised
facilities will take place during 2006 and be fully operational by mid 2007. As
part of this agreement Carillion will continue to utilise other members of
Norwich Union's Supply Chain.
