Appointment of non-executive director
The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca Miskin as a non-
executive director and member of Centaur Media Plc's ("Centaur") Remuneration
Committee with immediate effect.
Rebecca has extensive experience in digital media and product development. Until
recently, she was General Manager of iVillage Networks for NBC Universal, based
in New York and London, where she was responsible for editorial oversight,
product development strategy, community, and partnership maximization of the
iVillage core sites. During her tenure, the content driven online community for
women grew from 18m unique visitors per month to over 33m.
She began her career in media in 1992 at Reed Elsevier as Director of Europe,
Reed Telemedia, charged with developing the company's European telecom-based
information services. In 1995, Rebecca became the first International Publisher,
IPC Media, expanding her responsibilities to create their Content & Licensing
division (Intellectual Property Director) and then Commercial Director for all
digital businesses.
In 2001, Rebecca became Managing Director of top dot-com era portal Excite in
the UK, after which she joined the Ministry of Sound as CEO. Her passion for
tennis led her to become Director of Operations at the British Tennis Federation
from 2003 until 2006, restructuring the organization to secure its first ever
Government funds and delivering the tennis element of the winning London 2012
Olympic bid.
Having returned to the UK, Rebecca is currently working with the National
Magazine Company to expand the Cosmopolitan brand across all platforms in the
UK.
Centaur's Chairman, Patrick Taylor, said: "I am delighted to welcome Rebecca to
the board of Centaur. She has extensive experience of the media sector in
general and of digital media innovation in particular, and will add great value
to the Company as we seek to exploit the exciting growth opportunities which
digital media offer."
There are no other matters relating to the appointment of Rebecca Miskin to the
Board of Centaur that need to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13.
