Pursuant to section 198 of the Companies Act 1985, the Board of Dinkie Heel plc
(the 'Company') yesterday received notification that, following the purchase of
800,000 ordinary shares in the Company, David Abell has an interest in
10,800,000 ordinary shares of the Company representing approximately 6.06% of
the Company's issued ordinary share capital.



As Mr Abell is a member of the Concert Party (as described in the circular to
shareholders dated 26 March 2004), the Concert Party now holds approximately
50.96 per cent. of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.
