Appointment of Director

Bahamas Petroleum, the oil and gas exploration company with offshore license permits in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Weyel as Non-Executive Director of the Company effective immediately.

Dr. Paul Crevello, CEO of Bahamas Petroleum, commented:

"Mr. Weyel has operating experience in major oil producing basins around the world and his 35 years of global experience as entrepreneur, executive officer and director of public and private companies, including his experience in various leadership roles, will enable him to assist in the effective growth and oversight of the Company.  Steve has an impressive career in delivering attractive investment returns, and contributing to shareholder value.  Most recently, as a Founder of Energy XXI, he helped take it from an AIM company to a $2bn NASDAQ-listed company.  I am delighted Steve has agreed to assist me and the Board of the Company as he is the ideal candidate for the role due to his extensive experience in successfully growing energy companies."
