Bahamas Petroleum, the oil and gas exploration company with licences in The Bahamas, announces that yesterday it received notification from Citigroup Global Markets UK Equity Limited ("Citigroup") that, following the acquisition of 25,000,000 ordinary shares of 0.002 pence each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on 9 August 2011, Citigroup is now interested in 62,515,105 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 5.08 per cent. of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.
