CHEMRING APPOINTS NEW GROUP DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Chemring Group PLC is pleased to announce that it has appointed Jim Devine as Group Director of Human Resources, with effect from 7 January 2013. Jim will be a member of the Group's Executive Committee and will report directly to Mark Papworth, Chief Executive.

Jim began his HR career with British Aerospace plc in 1992, and then spent 10 years at automotive group Ford of Europe in a range of diverse and increasingly senior HR roles.  In 2005 he joined Centrica, the FTSE100 energy group and since 2009 has served as HR Director, Corporate Centre and HR Shared Services.

Mark Papworth, Chemring's Chief Executive Officer, said:

"Jim comes to Chemring with an outstanding track record in developing and executing HR strategies at both Ford and Centrica.  He brings a very commercial approach to the HR discipline and has just the right experience and approach to put in place the sustainable people strategy that our business requires. He is a very important addition to our senior management, and I am delighted to welcome him to Chemring."
