For Immediate Release 14 May 2003
CHURCHILL CHINA plc
AGM TRADING STATEMENT
At the Company's Annual General Meeting, Stephen Roper, Chairman, made the
following statement.
'At our preliminary results announcement I indicated that we expected our
trading performance to show some improvement in a year where we anticipated
market growth would be constrained and in which we would be undertaking a
substantial restructuring programme aimed at restoring the long term
profitability of our Dining In division.
I am pleased to report that in the four months to the end of April we have met
our performance targets. Our restructuring programme continues to proceed as
planned and a number of key tasks within the programme have been successfully
completed.
Once again I would like to express my thanks to the Group's employees. The
changes we are making within our business require a considerable amount of
flexibility and commitment at all levels. I am grateful that our workforce
continues to accept and contribute to this process of change.'
