Churchill China PLC
28 June 2000
The Directors of Churchill China plc have noted a rise in
its share price late yesterday afternoon and this
morning. This they believe was as a result of a share
purchase on 27 June 2000 amounting to approximately 9.6
per cent. of its issued share capital.
This transaction follows further share purchases made
recently by certain of the Directors of Churchill China
and the Roper family who now own, together with their
connected parties, in aggregate 58.5 per cent. of the
shares of Churchill.
The Company has not received any notification regarding
this substantial purchase nor has it received any
approach. The Directors of Churchill, including the
Roper family, remain committed to the long term
independent development of the Churchill China Group.
