WANdisco Completes Purchase of Leading User-Interface for Subversion

Sheffield, UK - WANdisco (LSE: WAND), a leading provider of global collaboration software to the software development industry, announces that it has completed the purchase of SmartSVN from German software company, Syntevo GmbH.

Launched in 2005, SmartSVN has been widely adopted by software developers across more than 2,500 companies, including many in the Fortune Global 500 index.  A major key to SmartSVN's success has been its platform independence, with versions available for Windows, Linux, Unix and Mac OS X operating systems.

The directors believe that the addition of SmartSVN will afford WANdisco a number of potentially significant opportunities, including:

·      Enabling WANdisco to offer a more complete solution that can encompass both the client and the server;

·      Providing cross-sell potential between SmartSVN users and WANdisco's Enterprise Subversion product lines;

·      Allowing WANdisco to implement an e-commerce sales model with a proven product and install base; and

·      Providing a low cost end-user product that can be leveraged to drive sales in WANdisco's target SME market.

WANdisco will acquire the SmartSVN product for $1,000,000. The company also has engaged the vendor to provide consulting and training services to facilitate the smooth integration of SmartSVN into WANdisco's existing product line.

Commenting on the purchase David Richards, WANdisco Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said:

"I am delighted that we have completed the agreement to purchase SmartSVN. It is proven in the marketplace and the feedback from our existing customers who have used it for years has been excellent.  Traditionally our products have been used by large global IT organizations to enable their Subversion servers to perform and scale with 24/7 availability.  Our primary users have been the Subversion system administrators who maintain the servers in these organizations. Now SmartSVN will enable us to broaden out our solution stack to reach Subversion's millions of end-users, as well as enable us to embolden our efforts to target the important SME market."
