Declaration of Dividend Payment

Dividend on the Ordinary Shares

The Board of The City of London Investment Trust plc announces that a third interim dividend of 3.75p per ordinary share of 25p, in respect of the year ending 30 June 2014, will be paid on Friday 30 May 2014 to holders registered at the close of business on 2 May 2014.  The Company's shares will go ex-dividend on 30 April 2014. 

The Board also intends to pay a fourth interim dividend of 3.75p per share for the year to 30 June 2014.  The fourth interim dividend will be declared in July 2014.  This would make a total dividend for the year to 30 June 2014 of 14.76pper share, an increase of 3.2% over the previous year.
