The Board of City of London Investment Trust plc announce that the benchmark it
is adopting from 1 July 2005, the "FTSE All Share Index - adjusted for a maximum
4% cap for any single stock", will be available on www.ftse.com/4capped from 20
May until 20 June.  It will then be available on www.ftse.com alongside the "
FTSE All Share Index - adjusted for a maximum 5% cap for any single stock".
