                            Annual General Meeting


The City of London Investment Trust plc hereby gives notification that at the
Annual General Meeting of the Company held today all the resolutions, as set
out in full in the notice of meeting dated 8 September 2000, were duly passed.
One of the resolutions gave authority to the Company to make market purchases
of up to 31,055,685 ordinary shares (being 14.99% of the ordinary shares in
issue at 8 September 2000).
