                                  Board Change

Clarkson PLC announces that Richard Fulford-Smith has today been asked to and
has stepped down from the Board and as Chief Executive. His future role within
the group is a matter for further discussion.

Andi Case, currently MD of Global Broking and Chief Operating Officer of
Clarksons, will become interim Chief Executive.

The Company is currently trading well and a detailed update will be given at the
AGM on 7 May 2008.
