CLOSE BROTHERS GROUP ANNOUNCES

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A RISK COMMITTEE

The Board of Directors of Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces the establishment of a Risk Committee as a committee of the Board with effect from 15 December 2010. 

Pursuant to its obligations under Listing Rule 9.6.11R (3), the Company wishes to notify that:

Ray Greenshields, a non-executive director of the Company, has been appointed Chairman of the Risk Committee;

Bruce Carnegie-Brown and Douglas Paterson, both non-executive directors, have been appointed as the other members of the Risk Committee; and

other members of the Board will attend Risk Committee meetings by invitation.

All these appointments are with effect from 15 December 2010.
