Proxy votes at the forthcoming AGM
Guinness Peat Group plc ("the Company") announces, pursuant to regulation 5.8.4
of the UK's Disclosure and Transparency Regulations, that discretionary proxies
in respect of between 29,112,519 and 31,933,924 ordinary shares of 5p each ("
Shares") and consequent voting rights (i.e. between 2.54% and 2.78% of the
total) have been granted to Sir Ron Brierley (as chairman of the meeting) for
the Company's Annual General Meeting to be held on 29 May 2007 ("AGM"). The
number varies from resolution to resolution to be considered at the AGM.
Sir Ron Brierley also holds 36,817,258 Shares (representing 3.21% of the total
voting rights) in his own name.
All the voting rights relating to these proxies revert to the relevant
shareholders at the conclusion of the AGM.
