Announcement

After nearly thirty years of hard work and dedication, Mrs. Sahar El Sallab, Vice Chairman and Manging Director, has chosen to retire from CIB. Throughout her career, Mrs. Sallab has been instrumental in helping to build the Bank. Her contributions and tireless efforts have positioned CIB for continued success. Upon completion of a comprehensive transition process and in respect to her wish, the Board has accepted Mrs. Sallab's request, effective September 30, 2008. 

CIB is pleased to announce the appointment of three executives. Mr. Essam El Wakil is joining CIB as CEO of Institutional Banking and Board Member from Arab Bank Corporation, where he was most recently CEO-Egypt and has 34 years of banking experience. Mr. Jawaid Mirza joins as COO from ABN Amro, where he was most recently CFO Asia and has 27 years of experience. Mr. Humayun Rashid joins as CEO of consumer banking from National Bank of Oman, where he was head of Consumer Banking and has 28 years of banking experience.

The members of the Board and the Bank's management wish to deeply thank Mrs. Sallab for her commitment, hard work, and dedication to CIB during her career life and wish her and her family all the best.
