Saint-Gobain expands its plasterboard business in Turkey
Saint-Gobain, through its Gypsum Activity, today completed the acquisition of Doğaner, a Turkish manufacturer of plaster and plasterboard. The company is located 50 km southeast of Ankara, where it operates a plant with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tonnes of plaster and 12 million square meters of plasterboard.
In 2010, Doğaner generated revenue of nearly €22 million with 109 employees.
The acquisition will enable the Gypsum Activity to consolidate its position in a large and growing market and to enhance its current product range with locally manufactured plasterboard.
Saint-Gobain is already present in Turkey via a Rigips (one plaster plant), Izocam (five insulation plants), and Weber (four industrial mortar plants).
