SAINT-GOBAIN ENTERS the construction chemicals MARKET in mexico
Saint-Gobain has entered into an agreement to acquire IMPAC, a leader in construction chemicals solutions in Mexico. IMPAC recorded sales of close to €50 million in 2020. It operates one plant in Monterrey and employs about 630 people.
This acquisition is fully in line with the "Grow & Impact" plan unveiled on October 6 during Saint-Gobain's Capital Markets Day, and aims to both strengthen the Group's leadership in Latin America and accelerate its growth in the region by enriching its range of solutions for light and sustainable construction.
In Mexico, Saint-Gobain employs 7,500 people and has 11 manufacturing sites. The Group is a leader on the construction glass market and recently entered the plasterboard market in the country. With the acquisition of IMPAC, a leader in construction chemicals, Saint-Gobain will substantially strengthen its position on the Mexican market by being the first actor to offer a comprehensive range of solutions for light and sustainable construction in the country.
The completion of the transaction is subject to approval by the Mexican competition authority and is expected in the coming months.
