Appointment of Independent Director
The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Bernard Zissman as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Sir Bernard, aged 75, was knighted for public and political services in 2006. Sir Bernard was the Lord Mayor of Birmingham in 1990/91 and has held numerous other public posts spanning a 30-year career. Sir. Bernard was named as the Institute of Directors' "Non-Executive Director of the Year" in 2007 in recognition of his non-executive positions within a number of Midlands-based companies.
He is currently the Chairman of a number of both public and private companies, namely Advantage Business Angels Ltd, CDI Plc and Early Equity Plc. Also, he is currently the chief executive officer of Confident Communications Ltd. Previous corporate roles have included the Chairman of an NHS Trust and Director of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham. He was awarded an honorary degree from the University of Birmingham in 1997 and a doctorate from Birmingham City University in 2000.
Sir Bernard holds no shares in the Company.
