The Putnam Advisory Company, LLC (together 'Putnam') on 12 February 2001 that,
as at 6 February 2001, Putnam had an interest in 30,498,262 Ordinary Shares of
CRH plc representing 7.35 per cent of the Company's issued Ordinary Share
Capital.
