RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 15th October 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 240,124 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.8573 and €20.8833 and at prices between £8.7104 and £14.1386 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 13,379,792 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 693,798,648.
