RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES

CRH plc announces that on 3^rd March 2010 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 8,349 Ordinary Shares at prices of €11.18 and €11.9565 and at a price of Stg£14.4903 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 12,323,322 Ordinary Shares in Treasury.  The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 698,162,598.
