RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES

CRH plc announces that on 28^th July 2010 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 15,660 Ordinary Shares at prices of €11.8573 and €15.0674 per Ordinary Share and at a price of £16.7806 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 9,777,368 Ordinary Shares in Treasury.  The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 708,017,143.
