RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES

CRH plc announces that on 11^th August 2010 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 17,203 Ordinary Shares at a price of €15.0854 per Ordinary Share and at prices of £11.1630 and £16.7806 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 9,758,420 Ordinary Shares in Treasury.  The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 708,036,091.
