RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES

CRH plc announces that today, 23^rd December 2011, it transferred to a participant in an employee share scheme 2,218 Ordinary Shares at a price of €11.9565 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 8,919,195 Ordinary Shares in Treasury.  The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 718,978,711.
