APPOINTMENT OF A NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE

  
James Cropper, at present Chairman and Chief Executive has decided that he
wishes to relinquish the role of Chief Executive at the end of December 2000.
He will continue as Chairman.
 
The Board are delighted to announce that Alun Lewis, Director and General
Manager of the Converting Division, has been appointed Chief Executive from 1
January 2001.
 
Alun Lewis joined the Group in 1987 from Wiggins Teape Ltd and the Board in
April 1998. He took up his present position in 1994 and under his leadership
the Division has successfully moved into separate premises, since when it has
experienced a steady year on year growth in profitability.
