Change of Name

BMO Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC ("the Company") announces that it has changed its name to CT UK Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC following the acquisition in November 2021 of BMO GAM (EMEA) of which the Company's investment manager is a part.   

The change of name, which took place today, 1 July 2022, has been approved by the Board of Directors in accordance with the Company's Articles of Association.

The Company's shares will trade under the new name on the London Stock Exchange from 8.00 a.m. London time on 4 July 2022.

The Company's trading instrument display mnemonic ("TIDM") will also change from BCI to CTUK with effect from 8.00 a.m. London time on 4 July 2022.  The ISIN and SEDOL numbers will remain unchanged.

The Company's website address will be amended to reflect the change of name and from 4 July 2022 will become ctukcapitalandincome.com. 

Shareholders are unaffected by the changes and existing share certificates will remain valid and should be retained. The investment policy and processes remain the same under the same Manager with Julian Cane as Fund Manager.

Background

The Company's investment manager is part of BMO GAM (EMEA) ("BMO") which was acquired and is currently being integrated into Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Columbia Threadneedle and BMO have been working to integrate both organisations, focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for all its clients.

The combined business has more than 2,500 staff, including over 650 investment professionals based in North America, Europe and Asia. At 31 March 2022 Columbia Threadneedle managed £531 billion of client assets. The transaction also brings additional capabilities to Columbia Threadneedle in areas such as investment trusts, investment solutions, alternatives and responsible investment.

From 4 July 2022, the entire BMO GAM (EMEA) business will be rebranded as Columbia Threadneedle Investments, unifying the businesses under its global brand. Aligned to this date, all savings plan products and legal entities, which currently operate under the "BMO" prefix, will also use the "CT" prefix.  

Benefits for shareholders

Many of the Company's Shareholders invest through the BMO savings plans. With the BMO brand changing to Columbia Threadneedle Investments ( www.ctinvest.co.uk ), the Company's Board has therefore resolved that continuing to align with the brand of its Manager, as well as the saving schemes, avoids unnecessary confusion, and ensures the Company maximises the benefits resulting from broader investment by Columbia Threadneedle Investments.
