DE LA RUE PLC - NOTIFICATION OF DIRECTORS' INTERESTS


De La Rue plc (the 'Company') announces that it received notification on 24
January 2007 of the following transaction by Bachmann Trust Company Limited as
trustee of the De La Rue Employee Share Ownership Trust (the 'Trust') in
ordinary Shares of 277/9 pence each ('Ordinary Shares').

The Trust was established by De La Rue plc for the benefit of employees of the
Company and its subsidiaries in conjunction with the Company's executive share
option scheme. The transactions were made on behalf of beneficiaries of the
Company's executive share options scheme (not any director or other person
discharging managerial responsibilities).


Following the above transaction the following executive directors, Mr L M Quinn,
Chief Executive and Mr S A King, Group Finance Director, have an interest in the
balance held by the Trust of 1,847,332 Ordinary Shares (1.15% of the Company's
issued share capital) as potential beneficiaries of the Trust.



De La Rue Qualifying Employee Share Ownership


The Company was also notified on 25 January 2007, that the De La Rue Qualifying
Employee Share Ownership (the 'QUEST') on 25 January 2007 transferred 2,709
shares of 277/9p each in the Company pursuant to the exercise of options under
the De La Rue Sharesave Scheme. The number of De La Rue plc shares now held by
the QUEST is 176,788 (0.11% of the Company's issued share capital).


Following the above transaction Mr L M Quinn, Chief Executive and Mr S A King,
Group Finance Director, have an interest in the balance held by the Trust as
potential beneficiaries of the Trust although neither is participating in the
exercise of options referred to above.
