Domino's Pizza UK & IRL plc ("Domino's" or "the Company"), the leading pizza delivery company in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, today announces the appointment of Lance Batchelor, currently a Non-Executive Director of the Company, as Deputy Chief Executive.  Lance will take up his executive responsibilities with effect from 27 June 2011.

Lance was most recently Chief Executive of Tesco Telecoms. He has previously held senior roles at Vodafone Group Plc, Amazon.com and Procter & Gamble. His first career was in the Royal Navy as a Submarine Warfare Officer, after which he completed his MBA at Harvard Business School. Lance is also a director of Dunnhumby Ltd.

Stephen Hemsley, Non-Executive Chairman of Domino's, said: "We are delighted to welcome Lance to the executive team after a period as a Non-Executive Director.  During this period we have got to know him and he has gained a good insight into the business.  As a growing FTSE250 Company, we take our succession planning very seriously and, while Chris is remaining as Chief Executive until at least 2012, Lance's appointment will help to facilitate an orderly handover from Chris when the time is right."

Chris Moore, Chief Executive of Domino's, added:  "Since his arrival, Lance has proved to be an excellent Non-Executive Director and has been getting to grips with the finer details of the Domino's operation. He has enormous experience in building online businesses and his depth of knowledge in a variety of areas will be a real asset to the Company. In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.13 (1), the Company confirms that Lance Batchelor was a director of NXT PLC between 20 October 2004 and 17 October 2007. The Company confirms that there is no further information about Lance Batchelor requiring disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
