Notification of Transactions of Directors,

Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility or Connected Persons

Tim Cobbold a non-executive director of Drax notified the Company on 21 December 2011 that a connected person has purchased 1,000 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of 529.683 pence per share.

The shares are to be registered in the name of HSBC nominees and the beneficial owner is Carolyn Ann Cobbold, who is Tim Cobbold's spouse.  The total number of ordinary shares in which Tim Cobbold has an interest following this acquisition is 1,000.

The notification is in accordance with DTR 3.1.4 R(1)(a) and DTR 3.1.4 R(1)(b) and the dealing was in respect of ordinary shares of 11 ¹⁶/₂₉ pence each in the share capital of the Company of which there were 364,862,718 shares in issue at the time of the dealing.
