Drax Group plc announces that on 28 September 2007 it purchased for cancellation
370,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 606.34 pence per share.

Following the purchase and upon cancellation of these shares, the number of
ordinary shares with voting rights in issue will be 347,630,804.
