Drax Group plc announces that on 17 September 2007 it purchased for cancellation
275,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 592.206 pence per share.

Following the purchase and upon cancellation of these shares, the number of
ordinary shares with voting rights in issue will be 350,534,804.
