                           Transaction in own shares

Dunelm announces that on 12 March 2008 it purchased for Treasury 50,000 ordinary
shares of 1 pence each at a price of 155 pence per share.

This purchase equates to approximately 0.02 per cent. of the Company's total
issued share capital.

Following the purchase of these shares, Dunelm holds 345,000 of its shares in
Treasury and has 200,446,406 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury
shares).
