easyJet announces Jeff Carr as Finance Director
easyJet plc announced today the appointment of Jeff Carr, aged 43, as Finance
Director and to the plc board. He is expected to join easyJet early in 2005.
The decision to appoint Jeff Carr follows an extensive search that embraced
candidates from a wide field.
Jeff is currently Director of Finance, Performance and Planning for Associated
British Foods plc. He has previously held senior financial positions with
Unilever, Grand Metropolitan and Reckitt Benckiser. In addition to experience
with major consumer orientated companies, Jeff has wide international experience
in both mainland Europe and in the USA.
Chris Walton has resigned as Finance Director and will be leaving easyJet at a
date to be agreed. Chris has been with easyJet since 1999 and has led the
Finance team through a period of remarkable growth and achievement for the
company.
Commenting Sir Colin Chandler, Chairman of easyJet said:
'Jeff's broad range of financial leadership roles make him ideally qualified to
carry forward the Finance team through a period of opportunity for easyJet,
building on the work of the last five years. He brings to easyJet considerable
experience - his big company understanding, knowledge of consumer facing
companies and international background will all be of great benefit to the
company at this stage of its development.
'I am deeply grateful to Chris Walton for his contribution over the last five
years - a period in which easyJet has grown significantly from a small private
company to a mid-sized plc. He goes with our best wishes'
