                       BOARD CHANGE AND DIRECTOR DEALING

Reflecting the change in focus of the Company's operations Dr Julian Vearncombe,
who oversaw the Company's exploration activities, stepped down from the board of
Mercator Gold on 30 June 2007.

In recognition of the value of the contribution Drs Julian and Susan Vearncombe
have made to Mercator Gold, Patrick Harford, the Company's Managing Director, is
gifting 200,000 of his vendor share options to them.

Managing Director, Patrick Harford, said:

'I would personally and on behalf of the Company like to thank Dr Vearncombe for
his valuable contribution to Mercator from its inception. Mercator has evolved
from a junior exploration company to a production-ready operation.'
