In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provisions,
Mercator Gold plc would like to notify the market that, as of 20 December 2006,
the total number of 10p ordinary shares with voting rights is 53,580,980.

The above figure, 53,580,980 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for
the calculations, by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to, their interest in Mercator Gold plc, under
the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
