Appointment of New Director

The Board of The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc (the 'Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Aidan Lisser as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 27 May 2022.  

Aidan has considerable experience as an investment trust non-executive director and has a background in investment and wealth management marketing.  Aidan is currently a non-executive director of JPMorgan Emerging Markets Investment Trust plc where he is chair-designate, Henderson International Income Trust plc and a board member of Chapter Zero, an organisation to assist non-executive directors with the impact of climate change.  He is also a marketing ambassador for the Association of Investment Companies.

Glen Suarez, Chairman of the Company, said "We are delighted that Aidan has agreed to join the Board and, on behalf of all the Directors, we welcome him and very much look forward to working with him. Aidan brings extensive marketing experience across financial services and I have no doubt that he will rapidly become an extremely valuable member of the Board."

Shareholders will have the opportunity to vote on Aidan's election as a new director at the AGM in July this year when it should also be noted that Glen Suarez will be retiring and not seeking re-election. Elisabeth Stheeman is currently Chairman-Elect and will be appointed Chairman at the Annual General Meeting on 21 July 2022.

There is no information to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13(2) to 9.6.13(6) of the Financial Conduct Authority's Listing Rules.  

Mr Lisser does not currently hold any shares in the Company.
