On 8 March 2002, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
250,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 415p per share. Following
the buy back, there are 247,796,714 ordinary shares in issue. The share buy-back
will be financed out of the capital reserve.
