EUROPEAN MOTOR HOLDINGS plc ("EMH")
DISPOSAL OF PROPERTY
The Board of EMH announces the disposal on 14 November of its freehold property
in Park Royal, London. The site, which was surplus to requirements, had housed
the group's Mercedes-Benz operations until the disposal of those businesses in
July 2002 and had subsequently been let to DaimlerChrysler UK Retail Limited who
vacated the site in July 2003.
The disposal has generated cash proceeds of £8.3 million and an exceptional
profit of £2.8 million to be included in the Group's accounts for the year
ending 29 February 2004.
On 12 November 2003, the Group acquired a freehold site in Newcastle to relocate
its existing Volvo business from its present location in Silverlink which will
be refurbished for the Bentley franchise. Total expenditure on these sites is
expected to be approximately £3.2 million.
The balance of the proceeds from the disposal of Park Royal site will be used to
fund future expansion of the Group and pending the application of such funds
will be placed on deposit to offset borrowings.
