EUROPEAN MOTOR HOLDINGS plc ("EMH")
DISPOSAL
In line with Audi's market area strategy, EMH yesterday disposed of the business
and certain assets of its Audi business in Chester, Dane Audi, to Smith Knight
Fay Limited, Audi dealers in the North West of England. Although it was
originally envisaged that this disposal would take place in August, we have been
able to retain the business until the end of September to take advantage of a
very strong trading performance in the month. The total cash consideration for
this transaction was £3.3 million and this has resulted in a net profit on
disposal of £1.5 million. In the year ended 29 February 2004 this business made
a contribution to group profits of £0.9 million. EMH will now concentrate on
the further development of its own market area in the West of England where it
already has businesses representing Audi in Swindon and Tetbury.
