Transaction in Own Shares

Jupiter European Opportunities Trust PLC ('the Company') announces that today it
purchased  100,000 of  the  Company's  Ordinary  shares  at 182.5p per share and
65,000 of  the  Company's  Ordinary  shares  at  184.25p per share both were for
cancellation.

Following  this transaction the  issued share capital  with voting rights of the
Company is 80,539,523 shares.

The  above figure 80,539,523 may be used  by shareholders as the denominator for
the  calculations by  which they  can determine  if they  are required to notify
their  interest  in,  or  a  change  to  their  interest  in,  Jupiter  European
Opportunities Trust PLC under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
