fastjet Passenger Statistics for August 2013
fastjet plc is pleased to announce its passenger statistics for the month of August. fastjet's Tanzanian operation carried over 33,000 passengers, the highest monthly total of passengers since fastjet commenced flights in November 2012 . This figure represents a 5.8 per cent increase on the previous month, and a load factor of 84 per cent.
Combined, the fastjet and fly540 operations carried a total of 78,500 passengers in August, a 30.2 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.
Ed Winter, fastjet's CEO and Chairman said: "As reported earlier this month, we have seen a continued growth in passenger sales revenue in Tanzania. The strong load factor and revenue in excess of $2.7m exceeded expectations for the month.
August also saw the launch of ticket sales for our Tanzanian domestic route to the newly refurbished Songwe Airport in Mbeya. Tickets have also been on sale on our first international route from Dar es Salaam to Johannesburg, with the first flight due to take place on the 27th September."

1. "All Operations" includes statistics for fastjet Tanzania, Fly540 Kenya, Fly 540 Ghana and Fly540 Angola.
2. "Passengers" for 540 operationsare flown passengers and for fastjet operations are sold seats flown, in both cases excluding infants. Fastjet bookings are generally non-refundable whereas 540 bookings are in some circumstances refundable.
3. "Load Factor" is the number of 'passengers" as a percentage of the number of available seats flown.
4. "fastjet Operations" includes only statistics for Fastjet Tanzania operations which commenced on 29th November 2012
