                         Appointment of Chief Executive



The Ninth Floor is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Thomas,
aged 44, as Chief Executive with immediate effect. Alan Wix, previously Chairman
and Chief Executive will remain as Chairman of the Company.

Until 1996 Chris was chief executive of Cray Valley (Europe's largest
manufacturer of synthetic resins) having previously been chief executive of
Kalon France S.A, France's leading manufacturer of decorative parts, until 1999
and chief executive of Englewood Limited, the UK's leading manufacturer of wall
coverings, until 2000.

Commenting on the appointment Alan Wix, Chairman of The Ninth Floor, comments:
'We are delighted to have attracted someone of Chris' stature and reputation as
Chief Executive. I am confident that he will make a significant contribution to
the development of our business going forward'.
