THE HANSOM GROUP PLC ('Hansom')
The Board of Hansom announced yesterday, 25th July 2000, the appointment of
Alasdair Locke as Chairman and the resignation of Jonathan Mervis from the
Hansom Group.
Alasdair Locke is also the Chairman of the Abbot Group plc, a listed company
capitalised at £145.1m with wide-ranging interests in the oil services
industry.
Jonathan Mervis intends to exercise his option to acquire 2 million shares in
Hansom.
Alasdair Locke and Edinburgh Fund Managers ('EFM') intend to acquire from
Jonathan Mervis 2,491,172 and 2,000,000 shares respectively at a price of
21.5p per share.
Following this transaction the shareholdings of Alasdair Locke and EFM will be
11.0% and 9.82% respectively. Jonathan Mervis will retain 1 million shares in
Hansom.
Alasdair Locke has agreed in principle to acquire 363,636 Hansom shares from
John Warwick in due course.
