Statement
The Chairman of Paddy Power, Fintan Drury, today (Monday April 4th 2005)
announced that the board has begun the process of recruiting a new Chief
Executive. The current Chief Executive, John O'Reilly, has advised the Chairman
of his wish, for entirely personal reasons, to stand down within the next year.
The Chief Executive is on a one year rolling contract. Mr O'Reilly will remain
as Chief Executive until the end of 2005 at least.
The board will advise the market as and when it has relevant information on the
process.
