Focus appoints new Chief Executive Officer
Focus, a leading provider of XML development software and solutions to the
retail financial services market, is pleased to announce today the appointment
of Richard Stevenson, as Chief Executive Officer of the Group with effect from
1st March 2006. John Streets, founder and incumbent Chief Executive Officer has
changed roles and will remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director.
Richard James Stevenson, (39), was most recently CEO and President for Business
Agility Limited, a systems integrator focusing on enterprise class operations
software and related services. Prior to that he was CEO and President of AST
Europe and brings broad experience of developing software based technology
businesses in a global market to the Group.
With the full support of John Streets, the Board decided to recruit a new CEO
to accelerate the expansion of Focus' business into multiple business sectors
worldwide. Alastair M Taylor, Chairman, expressed his delight with the new
appointment. "Richard is an outstanding individual with a proven track record
and I very much look forward to working with him and ensuring a smooth
transition of responsibilities."
Mr Stevenson, said "I am very excited by the opportunity to transform Focus into
a global technology product provider, and to significantly grow the Group's
revenues and profitability by concentrating efforts with the current
partnerships and blue chip financial services customer base."
John Streets commented: "After 10 years leading the Company from start up,
partnering with AT&T, acquiring venture capital funding from Top Technology and
floating the company on AIM in March 2000, I am pleased to be involved in the
next significant step the Group needs to take. Following the signing of the
successful Global Reseller Agreement with BEA and patent award for
goal:technology, we will move into the next phase of the Group's development.
Globalising our technology across many market sectors through our partnership
programmes is a priority. It is vital we take this next step with the right
management expertise and I am delighted that Richard has decided to join the
Group and I look forward to working with him in our new roles."
