Frontier IP, which specialises in the commercialisation of university intellectual property, is pleased to announce that two of its portfolio companies, ex scientia Ltd ("ex scientia"), and Aridhia Informatics Limited ("Aridhia"), each won an award at the prestigious Scottish Enterprise Life Sciences Awards.
Professor Andrew Hopkins, the founder and CEO of ex scientia secured the Life Sciences Entrepreneurial Business Leadership Award. ex scientia, a spin-out from the University of Dundee, is pioneering medicines tailored to polypharmacology for a wide range of human diseases. The award acknowledged Professor Hopkins's success as founder and chief executive of ex scientia, as well as his wider academic, commercial and fundraising activities.
Aridhia was a joint-winner of the Innovative Collaboration award alongside the University of Glasgow, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, and Thermo Fisher Scientific Ltd, with the award recognising their collective contribution towards the modernisation of Glasgow's hospitals.
These awards, run by Scottish Enterprise, Scotland's main economic development agency, recognise the success and achievements of Scotland's internationally-renowned life sciences sector.
