Appointment of Ian Coull as Chairman designate and retirement of David Calverley
Galliford Try plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Coull as Chairman designate. Ian will join the Board as a non-executive director on 8 November 2010 and succeed David Calverley as Chairman on 1 July 2011.
Ian Coull is Chief Executive of SEGRO plc, Europe's largest industrial REIT and a leading provider of flexible business space. Prior to joining SEGRO, he was a main board director of J Sainsbury plc with responsibility for all property, construction, environmental and related activities. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
David Calverley said, "I am delighted to welcome Ian to the board and particularly pleased that he has agreed to take over the Chairmanship next July. Ian will be a tremendous asset to the company with his extensive business experience and knowledge of both the retail and commercial property sectors. Ian Coull
Ian Coull, 60, was appointed Chief Executive of SEGRO on 1st January 2003. Prior to joining SEGRO, he was a main board Director of J Sainsbury plc with responsibility for all property, construction environmental and related activities. He has previously worked for Texas Homecare Ltd as Director responsible for all property and construction matters. He is a member of the London Regional Board of the Royal and Sun Alliance.
He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1985.
He was President of the British Property Federation (BPF) 2005 to 2006 and he chairs the BPF's REITs Task Force. He was appointed to the Board of European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA) in September 2008.
David Calverley
David Calverley, 68 has been Chairman of Galliford Try since 2005. Chief Executive from 2000 to 2005, he was formerly a director of Trafalgar House and Chairman of Ideal Homes.
