Galliford Try JV Secures £215 million Contract for United Utilities
Galliford Try plc, the construction and housebuilding group, is pleased to
announce that, in joint venture with Costain Limited, it has been awarded a
contract with a potential value in excess of £215 million from United Utilities.
The three-year contract for the south region (Cheshire and South Manchester)
covers the construction of new projects within United Utilities' water sector
and is one of three major framework agreements awarded. These agreements
represent a move to a more collaborative approach by United Utilities in its
management of construction projects in line with its strategic approach to
procurement.
This is the largest project in this sector to date for Galliford Try, which is a
leader in long term project services to the water industry. The services
provided by Galliford Try under the contract will include the detailed design
and construction of water and wastewater treatment works.
George Marsh, Deputy Chief Executive of Galliford Try commented:
'I am delighted that Galliford Try has been selected by United Utilities for
this important project. It is testimony to our experience in the sector and
underlines our reputation as the partner of choice for the water industry.'
