Update on Government of Bangladesh Approval For Phulbari Coal Project
Asia Energy said today that the Company has been advised that the Technical
Committee of Experts, appointed to review the Scheme of Development and
Feasibility Study for the Phulbari Coal Project, has been requested to report
back to the Government of Bangladesh by the end of this week. Under the terms of
its contract with the Government, the Company lodged the Scheme document on 2
October 2005 triggering a three months review period which was extended. The
Government will assess the report of the Technical Committee and a further
announcement is expected in due course.
